Every November, New Braunfels hosts “Wurstfest”, a German-style sausage festival, drawing on the city’s strong German heritage. This is a unique annual celebration rich in German culture and full of Texas fun! It is known as the best ten days in sausage history. Located near the headwaters of the beautiful Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas. Here you’ll enjoy good food, music, dancing, exciting carnival rides and games, German, Texan and domestic beer, special events and the finest in Alpine and Bavarian Style Entertainment.

If you enjoy live music under the stars you’ll love the Whitewater Amphitheater - a multi-million dollar facility within one of the most scenic backdrops of any stage in Texas. The venue sits directly on the banks of the Guadalupe River and is just 5 minutes from Edgewater-Retreat. The Whitewater Amphitheatre is well integrated into the community and its existing riverside landscape, the ONLY venue bordered on two sides by a “year round” creek. We have an arrangement with River Sports Tubes to pick you up and drop you off right at the front gate of Edgewater-Retreat. Our guests can also enjoy a special price on tube rental (just mention to Theresa that you are an Edgewater-Retreat guest and she will take care of you). River Sports tubes is uniquely located on the Guadalupe River right in the middle of the famous Horseshoe Loop, so getting into and out of the river simple and quick! You can tube all day for one low price and choose from a Short Float, Medium Float, and/or a Long Float.
